19 of Medvedev's 21 victories have been earned on hard courts

A comeback Daniil Medvedev claimed his first trophy for over two years with victory over opponent Moutet in the competition final.

The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a difficult period, winning just one win at the big events and suffering a setback at the US Open.

The player's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serve in particular - led to him exiting of the top ten and finally parting ways with long-term coach Cervara.

Now working with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has steadily progressed in the last few weeks - peaking in a closely contested competitive triumph over opponent Moutet.

This marks the player's initial trophy after the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hardcourt after spring of 2023.

The win also indicates the Russian has achieved twenty-one victories at 21 different competitions.

"It's the first time I'm at a competition with my children simultaneously, so to get a trophy is especially meaningful," said tennis professional Medvedev.

"This title is in tribute of my child my daughter, because the maiden victory I achieved when my child her name was delivered was for her."

Medvedev, the past champion, had been defeated in his previous six championship matches, featuring in that event earlier this year.

The player's retrieving approach and recurring emotional displays on the tennis court had prompted some to doubt if his capacity to play at the highest level was over.

Yet the athlete has implemented adjustments in the past month, striving to advance forward and compete positively, reinforced by an better service.

He fought back from a disadvantage in the opening set against the difficult Frenchman, winning 4 of the last five games to take the lead.

Both players traded service breaks in the following set before the Frenchman, attempting for his initial tour championship, took control to force a decider.

The opponent saved 4 early opportunities in a tight deciding set before Medvedev secured a break to that score to serve for the match.

Fittingly, he clinched the win with a point at the net, with the Frenchman unable to handle a return after over two and a half hours.
