Local Law Enforcement
Roughly fifty automobiles have been smeared with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's municipality of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.
Vehicles, building surfaces and postal boxes were vandalized, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they stated in a official communication.
Law enforcement state they were alerted during the night on Wednesday night, when a resident discovered that a car in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been covered with a reddish-hued liquid.
The liquid had been placed in the form of a Nazi symbol, they reported.
Police then located numerous other vandalized automobiles and house walls in the nearby vicinity.
Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under legislation outlawing the public exhibition of Nazi-era symbols.
Law enforcement state preliminary tests suggest the substance was most likely blood from a person.
"At present there remains no indication as to its source; officials are currently not cognizant of any physical harm in association with the event," they added.
City officials said they were attempting "to solve the mystery" and have asked to the residents for details.
A high-ranking official commented the incident rendered him without words and had to be solved promptly.
"This act strikes at the core of Hanau and reopens the wounds of the far-right violent incident five years ago," he stated on a platform, recalling the murder of nine people by a shooter targeting people of foreign heritage in 2020.
